Benjamin Brothers Construction works with all insurance providers and has successfully completed hundreds of insurance claims from start to finish. We strongly recommend contacting us before filing an insurance claim so we can perform a free storm damage inspection and help you determine whether filing a claim is the right decision.
If you’ve already filed a claim and received an estimate from an insurance adjuster, we’re happy to review it with you. Insurance paperwork can be confusing, and initial estimates often leave out important items or include incorrect quantities. Our experience allows us to identify discrepancies and help ensure you receive the full coverage you deserve.
Homeowners Insurance Claim Process
- Free Damage Inspection
Benjamin Brothers Construction will thoroughly inspect your roof, skylights, siding, aluminum window wraps, screens, fascia, gutters, and downspouts to assess storm-related damage. If a claim is warranted, we’ll document the damage and show you clear photos of the affected areas.
- Filing the Claim
You’ll contact your homeowner’s insurance provider to file a wind and/or hail damage claim. Your insurance company will issue a claim number and schedule an inspection with an insurance adjuster. Once you receive that information, simply provide us with the claim number, the adjuster’s contact details, and the scheduled inspection date.
- Meeting the Adjuster
One of our experienced storm damage inspectors will meet with the insurance adjuster during their inspection to ensure all damage is properly identified. Afterward, we’ll carefully review the adjuster’s estimate to confirm that the full scope of damage is included.
- Supplementing the Claim
If any items are missing or quantities are incorrect, we’ll submit supplements to the insurance company to have those issues corrected. Our familiarity with insurance estimating practices helps ensure accuracy and fairness.
- Repair or Replacement
Once the claim is approved, we’ll repair or replace the damaged items according to the insurance estimate at the insurance replacement cost. Most insurance companies use Xactimate pricing, which reflects current local construction costs.
- Final Billing
After the work is completed, we’ll submit final documentation and billing to the insurance company so they can release any remaining funds to complete payment for the project.
